Spheres & Stone is a piece that captures the feeling of a dream state, a pause in time. Light and textures interact as we explore the imagined space.
The process of creating this piece came from a desire to form a space whereby no pressures loomed. A momentary capsule of peace.
Spheres & Stone was created within Maxon Cinema 4D. Approaching this project I had an aim to develop imagined spaces using the accents of light and natural texture, this piece was my opportunity to bring these explorations into motion. This piece is similar to my previous motion piece, 'Pillars of Gold' which was a spoken word audio-visual narrative expressing the degradation of value from personal to intrinsic (monetary). Spheres & Stone has a less immediate narrative as it follows a more exploratory path and is accompanied with a contemporary ambient track, complimenting the dream-like piece.
The music accompaniment to this piece is 'People on Sunday' by music artist Dominique Dumont. I chose this piece as it had natural and slightly erratic pauses of silence in the initial progression which matched the intro visuals, it then provides a contemporary ambient wash perfectly harmonising with the gently moving spheres in the latter half.
